About Us

Welcome to Pretty Little Distraction. I'm so excited you're here! PLD is an online woman's boutique based in York, NE. Our goal is to provide you amazing customer service, quality clothing, affordable prices, all mixed with a lot of FUN!

My name is Jessica Byrne, and I am the owner. You will also get to know a few of the gals who help me keep this place running. These girls are my lifeline and truly the best employees I could ask for.

I started Pretty Little Distraction in July, 2017 from a spare bedroom in my home. I worked full time, commuted 2 hours a day, and spent all of my free time on the boutique. It’s been my dream to own a small business since my first entrepreneurial class in high school. I won’t tell you how long ago that was.

Fast forward to today. I no longer work my corporate job, and am now providing employment to some AMAZING employees. We have our own warehouse space, and I love pouring my energy into this little dream.

PLD specializes in women’s boutique clothing. My goal is always to find pieces that work for any age, keeping you trendy no matter what stage of life you are in. My customers range from 16 to 76! So take a look around. I hope you love PLD as much as I do.

The beginning

This is one of the first pictures I took for the boutique (here's your reminder to take pictures when starting a business!). We had already outgrown the spare bedroom and had set up shop in my basement. I was still packing orders on the guest bed.

First Warehouse

By the end of 2018, we had outgrown my home. A friend built out a small space in his shop for me to use as a warehouse. It was a total of 900 sq ft with no heat. We packed orders in winter coats until November of 2019 when we moved into our 2nd warehouse space.

Second Warehouse

In November 2019, my husband moved our entire warehouse while I recovered from giving birth to our second child! This picture was taken two weeks after she was born. Between my husband and our incredible staff here, they got us moved & set up without missing a beat!

In 2021, Pretty Little Distraction purchased a 13k sq ft warehouse in downtown York, NE
